With the recent addition, the country’s
COVID-19 infections rose to 251,571, NCDC disclosed this via its official official
Twitter page.
The health officials added that 341 people
were discharged after tested negative to the disease. Which includes 203
community discharges in FCT on 19th January 2022.
And 13 discharged cases reported in Abia state on 18th January 2022.
Active cases on Wednesday further dropped to 23,174
from 23,286 it was the previous day.
However on Wednesday, one more patient was
confirmed to have died of COVID-19 complications in past 24 hours.
According to NCDC, the nationwide death toll
from the virus stands at 3,117, while in total, 225,280 people have been
discharged from hospitals after their symptoms improved.
Of the new cases, NCDC update shows that Lagos,
the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria
reported 115 out of the new cases, Gombe reported 29 cases, FCT reported 24 cases,
Imo reported 20 cases and Rivers had 10 cases.
Others as follows Ondo-9, Kano-5, Abia-4, Kaduna-4,
Oyo-4, Kebbi-2, Ogun-2, Borno-1 and Jigawa-1.
NCDC noted that today’s report includes four
confirmed cases reported in Abia state on 18th January 2022.
Two confirmed cases reported in Kebbi state on
18th January 2022. And one confirmed cases reported in Borno state on 18th
January 2022.
While five states, Ekiti, Nasarawa,
Osun, Plateau and Sokoto reported zero cases in the past 24 hours.
