Average number of new infections reported each
day in Nigeria falls below 100 mark over
the past 5 days.
Of the new cases Lagos reported 15 cases, Cross
River had 12 cases, FCT had 8 cases and Plateau had 7 cases.
While Ogun reported 2 cases, Abia, Delta, Oyo and
Rivers reported 1 case each.
NCDC added that seven of states reported zero cases;
Bauchi, Ekiti, Gombe, Nasarawa, Osun, Ondo, and Sokoto.
The health officials said no patient was confirmed dead from the virus, while 72 people were discharged from various isolation centers across the country in past 24 hours, as the number of active COVID-19 cases rose to 20,491.
With the latest update by NCDC, the tally of
infected people in the country rose to 253,923, while the number of recoveries
and discharged reached 230,293. There have now been 3,139 confirmed deaths
since the first reported death in March.
