NCDC report indicated that the 33 additional
cases represented a decrease in infections from the 34 cases reported the
previous day.
The new cases that were registered in 6 states
and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), saw Abuja, the Federal Capital
Territory reporting the highest number for the day – with 13 additionally cases,
Plateau had 8 cases and Delta had 5 cases.
While Rivers, Nasarawa, Kaduna and Kano reported
3, 2, 1 and 1 respectively.
NCDC said that only Sokoto state reported zero
cases in the past 24 hours.
NCDC added that the number of active COVID-19
cases in the country stands at 2,471 up from 2,451 it was on Thursday.
It disclosed that 13 patients were discharged
after recovering from the infection, this raised the total number of recoveries
to 248, 863.
The report from the health officials also
shows that the fatality toll now stands at 3,142, as no COVID-19 patients lost
thier lives to the disease in the last 24 hours.
Since the start of the pandemic Nigeria has
registered a total of 254,461 coronavirus
infections, including deaths and recoveries, NCDC said.
