    Nigeria Reports One Death, 47 New Infections

    On Friday, February 11, 2022, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 moved up to 253,970 with 47 new cases and one more death reported in Nigeria, as the number of active COVID-19 cases increased  to 20,513.

    In its daily update on Coronavirus, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the new cases were recorded across 8 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

    It stated that Lagos recorded the highest with 22 cases, almost half of the new cases.

    While FCT, Kwara and Osun reported 5 cases each, Delta and Kaduna had 3 cases each, Jigawa reported 2 cases, Nasarawa and Rivers had 1 case each.

    Today’s report includes 0 cases reported from Bauchi, Ekiti, Kano, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Plateau and Sokoto States, the health officials noted.

    NCDC stated that as many as 24 people have recuperated from the disease and were discharged from various hospitals in the past 24 hours. The total number of recoveries stands at 230,317.

    With one more fatality recorded, the country’s death toll rose to 3,140 NCDC report shows.
