The eleven Nigeria residents currently
infected with the disease represent a significant decrease over the 91 patients
reported two days earlier.
Most of the cases were reported in Lagos, the epicentre of coronavirus infections
in Nigeria had eight cases, while Kaduna, Nasarawa and Rivers reported 1 cases each.
Data released by the NCDC shows that three patients
were discharged on Friday after recovering from the infectious disease.
The number of active COVID-19 cases continued its upward trend, with total cases standing at 2,501 on Friday, an increase of 8 cases from Thursday’s figures.
Again for twenty-eight consecutive days, the health officials says that no new death linked to COVID-19 were reported on Friday.
According to NCDC, since the beginning of the
pandemic, Nigeria has seen 255,103 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, out of
which 249,460 patients have recovered and 3,142 Nigeria residents have lost
their lives to coronavirus.
