Nigeria reported an increase in new COVID-19 cases as another 31  residents were down with COVID-19 on Friday, the health officials data shows

Today’s new cases were confirmed in four states and Federal Capital Territory

The breakdown shows that Lagos reported most of the infections on Friday with 17 cases, Rivers had 6 cases, FCT had 5 cases, Kano 2 cases and Delta had 1 cases.

NCDC stated that the 17 confirmed cases reported in Lagos state are for 3rd (7) & 4th (10) March 2022.

It also said that three states; Plateau, Kaduna and Sokoto reported no cases of the disease on Friday.

The health official says no patient died due to COVID-19 in past 24 hours, noting that a total of 3,142 deaths have occurred since the start of the pandemic in Nigeria.

It also recorded six recoveries on Friday, taking the overall tally of recovered patients to 249,160.

Friday's report brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Nigeria to 254,637, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC’s update.
