According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, the nationwide COVID-19 infections tally reached 254,989, with 36 additional Nigeria residents infected with COVID-19 on Sunday.
The new figure indicated a significant increase
from the eight recorded a day earlier.
In an update on its official Facebook page,
the health officials said Sunday’s cases were found in three states and the
Federal Capital Territory.
No coronavirus death were recorded in the past
24 hours leaving the nation's virus-related death toll at 3,142.
The health officials added that no fewer than 249,372 people have recovered so far from the disease caused by coronavirus and discharged, with additional 32 new patients that were discharged on Sunday.
NCDC said that the increase in the number of
cases were from Yobe, Lagos, FCT and Rivers with 30, 3, 2 and 1 respectively
NCDC noted that today’s report includes 5 states
with zero cases reported: Abia, Kaduna, Kano, Plateau, and Sokoto.
