    Nigeria: 84 New COVID-19 Infections Reported Wednesday

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed additional 84 new novel coronavirus cases in the country in 5 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The health officials said in its daily update on the pandemic situation via its Twitter handle that the latest discoveries had increased the tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 254,861.

    While the number of successfully treated and recovered COVID-19 cases increased by 98 on Wednesday, the total COVID-19 recoveries in the West Africa country stands at 249,307.

    Total active coronavirus cases in the country now 2,412, up by 53 from 2,353 previous day.

    NCDC data showed that no patients died of coronavirus-related complications in the past 24 hours, as the total number of fatalities remained 3,142.

    A breakdown of the NCDC update shows that FCT reported 62 cases, Yobe had 15 cases, Bayelsa had 3 cases, Abia had 2 cases, Kaduna and Kano reported 1 case each.

    NCDC stated that the reports include a backlog of 62 cases reported in FCT on 8th (3) and 9th (59) March 2022.

    It added that six states, Abia, Delta, Nasarawa, Plateau, Rivers, and Sokoto reported no cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
