    Nigeria Logs 52 New COVID-19 Cases

    Nigeria on Friday recorded no COVID-19 fatalities, as daily deaths from COVID-19 has drastically declined for over a month.

    The fatality toll in the country remains 3,142 in total with no deaths from the disease on Friday as it was in the previous 48 hours

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC on Friday reported 52 new coronavirus cases in 6 states and the Federal Capital Territory,  as the total cases registered in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic move up to 255,296.

    The 52 Nigeria residents currently infected with the disease represent a decrease over the 58 patients reported on March 22nd and 23rd 2022.

    Most of the cases were reported in  Lagos, the epicentre of coronavirus infections in Nigeria had 23 cases, Kwara had 18 cases and FCT had 4 cases.

    While Kano, Rivers, Kaduna and Plateau reported 3, 2, 1 and 1 respectively.

    Data released by the NCDC shows that 9 patients were discharged on Friday after recovering from the infectious disease.

    The number of active COVID-19 cases continued its upward trend, with total cases standing at 2,659, up from 2,616 cases it was on March 23.

    Again for thirty-five consecutive days, the health officials data shows that no new death linked to COVID-19 were reported, the last time the country recorded a death was on February 18.

    According to NCDC, since the beginning of the pandemic, Nigeria has seen 255,296 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, out of which 249,495 patients have recovered and 3,142 Nigeria residents have lost their lives to coronavirus.

    NCDC stated that this report includes data from 24th and 25th March 2022

    Also added that 5 States; Abia, Bauchi, Delta, Nasarawa, and Sokoto reported no cases of the virus in past 48 hours
