The additional 74 cases reported indicate an increase
from the 45 cases reported in the country between 26th to 28th of March.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC),
disclosed this on its Facebook page late Wednesday night, noting that the
country’s fatality toll from the disease still stands at 3,142.
It added that the latest figure of confirmed
cases has increased Nigeria’s infection toll to 255,415.
NCDC stated that a total of 249,606 COVID-19 patients had recovered and had been discharged from hospitals across the country since the start outbreak, including 40 recoveries reported on Wednesday, out of which 22 community discharged cases were recorded in FCT.
Active COVID-19 cases trend down, total cases now stands at 2,672, up from 2,633 cases it was on March 28.
The breakdown of the COVID-19 data revealed
that Lagos, the epicentre of the disease, reported 35 cases.
Bauchi state followed on the log with 12
cases, while FCT, Abia and Kaduna states reported 11, 5 and 4 cases
respectively.
Kano state also had 3 cased, Plateau had 2 cases,
Oyo and Rivers reported 1 case each.
While Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Sokoto reported
zero cases of the virus.
NCDC noted that the report includes data from 29th and 30th March 2022.
