    Nigeria Records Steep Decline in COVID-19 Infections, Logs 3 Fresh Cases Saturday

    Nigeria's COVID-19 case tally rose to 254,640 with three people testing positive for the infection on Saturday in two states of the federation, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC data.

    The new infection figure ranks the lowest daily infections after the first cases were confirmed in Ogun State on February 27, 2020.

    The total number of fatalities still stands at 3,142 with no patient succumbing to the disease in the past 24 hours, the data updated stated.

    Today’s case count marks 13 consecutive days that Nigeria has recorded less than 50 daily COVID-19 cases.

    The number of people who have recuperated from the disease since the start of the out outbreak  moved to 249,171, including 11 recoveries recorded on Saturday, NCDC said.

    A breakdown of the NCDC update shows that Kastina leads with two cases and Kaduna reported one.

    While five states with reported zero cases: Nasarawa, Plateau, Kano, Rivers and Sokoto.
