    53 New COVID-19 Infections Reported in Nigeria

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC on Friday reported 53 new COVID-19 cases in five states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Which indicate a decrease of 21 when compared with the 74 cases recorded March 30.

    The latest data released by the health officials, show that the confirmed cases have increased Nigeria’s infection toll to 255,468 cases.

    NCDC also said that there was no new death on Friday leaving the mortality tally at 3,142.

    It added that 249,612 COVID-19 patients had recovered and had been discharged from hospitals across the country since the outbreak, including 6 recoveries reported on Friday.

    Active COVID-19 cases trend down, total cases now stands at 2,719, up from 2,672 cases it was on March 30.

    The states with new Covid-19 cases are Lagos-33, Kaduna-7, FCT-5, Bauchi-4, Rivers-3 and Delta-1.

    While Abia, Kano, Nasarawa, Plateau and Sokoto are the only five states with no COVID-19 cases reported on Friday.

    NCDC added that the data are for 31st March and 1st April 2022.
