Nigeria recorded 31 new cases of the COVID-19 virus in five states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Lagos, the epicentre of the virus recorded most of the cases with 21 infections, while Oyo, FCT and Kaduna reported 4, 2 and 2 cases respectively, Delta and Rivers reported 1 case
each.
The new tally brings the number of infections
in the country to 255,716, an update published by the Nigeria Centre for
Disease Control (NCDC) Thursday morning shows.
NCDC added that five states reported zero cases:
Bauchi, Cross River, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto.
According to the update, no patients succumbed
to the viral disease for the past twelve days, the virus which has already
claimed 3,143 lives in the country.
On the other han, a breakdown of the data
shows that six people were discharged after testing negative for the virus. This
slightly raises the total number of discharged persons after treatment to 249,896.
NCDC noted that this reports includes data from 23rd to 27th April 2022.
