The latest positive samples were recorded in five
states and the federal capital territory, according to the Nigeria Centre for
Disease Control NCDC’s latest update for 5th and 6th April 2022.
Kwara accounts for the highest number cases recorded
– with 29 infections followed by Lagos, the most affected state by the virus in
Nigeria recorded 17 infections and the FCT, second most affected by COVID-19 recorded
7 infections in the past 48 hours.
While Rivers, Cross River and Kaduna recorded
3, 2 and 1 respectively.
NCDC noted that 7 States reported zero cases:
Abia, Bauchi, Delta, Kano, Nasarawa, Plateau, and Sokoto.
There were no additional fatalities, the
coronavirus death toll in the country still stands at 3,142.
NCDC noted 12 patients were discharged after recovering from the infection. With the new figure, a total of 249,686 patients have so far recovered from COVID-19 in Nigeria.
