    COVID-19: Nigeria Reports 29 New Cases

    The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Nigeria rose to 255,924 on Thursday with additional 29 new infections were reported by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

    The reported death toll since the outbreak remained 3,143, as no patients were confirmed dead of the virus, the centre said.

    NCDC also reported that a total of 249,977 patients have recovered from the infection, including 16 patients who were discharged after been clear of the disease.

    The 29 new cases are reported from 2 states of the federation and Federal Capital Territory.

    Lagos, the epicentre for the disease reported most of cases confirmed on Thursday with 19 infections, followed by Kaduna with 7 cases and FCT with 3 cases.

    NCDC added that five states reported zero cases: Abia, Delta, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto.

    Nigeria has so far tested 5,152,011 persons since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the NCDC data.
