The new information surfaced after the
company mistakenly made the Snapdragon Summit event public on its website for a
brief period, according to a report. The event was listed with the date of
November 14-17.
SoC manufacturing company Qualcomm had
inadvertently posted its Snapdragon Summit event listing on its website. The
listing was later pulled, but not before GSMArena spotted dates for the
upcoming event.
The screenshot of the list shared by the
report shows that the Snapdragon Summit will be held from November 14 to 17
this year, two weeks before its usual time in December.
The company is expected to unveil the
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC at the event. However, the report also states
that these dates might be wrong since the company has yet to confirm the
schedule for the event.
It’s also worth noting that it’s quite
early for the company to announce the dates for the event. The report adds that
Qualcomm usually announces the dates of its Snapdragon Summit taking place in
Hawaii as early as five months in advance.
The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is said to
have an unusual 1+2+2+3 CPU combo with one Cortex-X3 core, two Cortex-A720
cores, two A710 cores, and three A510 cores.
As a reminder, Qualcomm unveiled the
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC on December 1st. The SoC is said to have up to four
times faster AI performance than the Snapdragon 888 SoC launched in 2020. It is
said to have provided 30% faster graphics rendering and 25% higher power
efficiency than the previous generation SoC .
