EA Sports have officially announced a new collaboration between entertainment company Marvel and FIFA 23 ahead of the game's official release later this year.
The collaboration between FIFA 23 and Marvel will see EA
release a new set of FIFA 23 Ultimate Team Heroes (FUT Heroes), reimagined and
inspired by Marvel Comics. The FUT 23 Heroes will be illustrated and inspired
by Marvel Super Heroes to celebrate their cult-hero status from their memorable
careers.
FIFA 23 will receive a worldwide release on Friday,
September 30, 2022 and the collaboration will impact the FIFA World Cup FUT
Hero player items, which are set to be released at a later date. Each FIFA
World Cup FUT Hero item will receive a special illustrated FUT item when the
World Cup game mode launches in FUT.
As well as FUT Hero items being involved in the Marvel
collaboration, other items such as tifos, kits, balls and more will also be
released into FUT 23. The collab also allows players to be able to get their
hands on a forthcoming online Marvel Heroes comic book alongside Marvel written
bios.
EA has already confirmed four new FUT Heroes for FIFA 23 -
Yaya Toure, Ji-Sung Park, Ricardo Carvalho and Claudio Marchisio. And, along
with the announcement of the Marvel collaboration, United States superstar
Landon Donovan has now been confirmed as a FUT Heroes item in FIFA 23.
The former La Galaxy and Everton player was added back to
FIFA Ultimate Team as a Legend player item in FIFA 16, but was then removed in
FIFA 18. As a teaser for the Marvel x FIFA 23 collaboration, EA have released
posters of the five FUT Heroes, illustrated by Marvel with superhero names.
Toure is 'The Citadel', Park is 'Tigerheart', Marchisio is
'Il Principino', Donavan is 'The Brave' and Carvalho is 'The Anticipator'.
Marvel is an American media and entertainment company, known for being one of
the biggest comic publishers in the world.
