Sony Pictures is deep into preparation for its next animated Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which has its next trailer on the way.

In Summer 2023, Sony Pictures will finally bring the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, one of the company’s best-reviewed superhero movies ever made. Across the Spider-Verse has already become one of the most anticipated movies of the year, in part for being the lone animated outing amongst a hoard of live-action stories from both DC Studios and Marvel Studios.

Before the movie faced a long release delay, Sony delivered the first trailer for Across the Spider-Verse nearly one year ago, showing Miles Morales' first full jump into the Multiverse alongside Hailee Steinfeld's Gwen Stacy and Oscar Isaac's Spider-Man 2099.

And now, with the sequel's new release date finally approaching again, Sony has confirmed when fans can expect to see the next full trailer for Spider-Man's latest adventure.

The official @Spiderverse Twitter account revealed that Sony Pictures plans to release the second trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Tuesday, December 13.

The post came with an image from the movie of Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy sitting upside-down next to each other looking out into the New York City skyline.

The first trailer for Across the Spider-Verse only gave fans a tease of what's to come in this new sequel, showing Miles and Gwen jumping through a portal into a new world that hasn't been seen in the animated realm before. However, it was devoid of any true plot details - details which should be teased more heavily in just a couple of weeks with this new trailer.

According to a reports, Across the Spider-Verse will feature over 200 unique characters, expanding the animated Multiverse to levels that were only hinted at in the original 2018 movie. But with six full months still remaining until the sequel arrives in theaters, fans will be curious to see just how much information Sony decides to reveal once December 13 hits.

While Sony will be sure to keep as many secrets hidden as possible for this new outing, fans are hoping to see the biggest collection of web-slingers on screen in history, with rumors of Tom Holland's MCU hero and both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield all being involved. Only time will tell what's actually revealed in this new trailer, however, as the plot and other details remain available for fan speculation.

The second full trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will debut on December 13, while the movie is set to arrive in theaters on June 2, 2023.
