Communication service Whatsapp has several new features being developed for its platform, rolling out soon.
The success of WhatsApp is boosted by consistent feature updates to enhance user experience.
This year will see the Meta app rolling out game-changer
features to shake social media.
These will see users taking matters into their own hands by
accessing updates, which will not limit their communication. Although WhatsApp does
not generally announce updates in advance, the features are tested on a beta program
that caters for Android and iOS.
According to Tech Advisor, here are five features either
available or to be rolled out soon:
Copy text from images
This will reportedly be available on iPhone first.
The update will allow users iOS 16 operating system to
select, copy and paste text from images.
Add a caption when forwarding a photo or video
Content labelling is a frustrating factor because you can't
add a message when forwarding a photo or video from one chat to another. To fix
this, Meta is working on a feature that will allow users to add a message when
sending content.
Move chat history between Android phones
WhatsApp is developing an update to make it easy to move
chat history between Android phones without Google Drive.
It's unclear how this will work, but Tech Advisor reports
that one will have to use QR codes to transfer chats.
Voice status updates
As reported by Tech It Out previously, WhatsApp is rolling
out voice message improvements, and one of them will soon make it on the status
message. This feature will permit recording a short voice note as an update.
Connecting to WhatsApp by Proxy Last month
Meta launched
proxy support for all users, a feature that allows them to maintain access to
WhatsApp if their connection is blocked or disrupted.
This is now available in the settings menu for everyone
running the latest version.
