    Afolayan-Led KAP Motion Pictures to Produce ‘Ijogbon’ in Partnership with Netflix.

    Following the success of 'Anikulapo,' Kunle Afolayan returns with a new movie called 'Ijogbon.'

    Nigerian filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, in partnership with Netflix, has embarked on yet another production titled ‘Ijogbon’. This is coming shortly after the screening success of his last production, ‘Anikulapo’.

    Produced under his KAP Motion Pictures, ‘Ijogbon’ is written by award-winning Tunde Babalola. Ijogbon is a “coming-of-age” adventure story about three teenage boys and a girl from a rural village in southwest Nigeria. The story revolves around the discovery of a bag of diamonds and the multitude of regrets that follows the decision to conceal their new found treasures.

    Although the location is rural, the movie, ‘Ijogbon’ is set in the present-day and KAP Motion Pictures has delved into local folklore to better tell this story.

    ‘Ijogbon’, according to the film director, shows the universality of human emotions, defined by peculiar cultural backgrounds and beliefs. Furthermore, the film depicts what life is like for teenagers in rural parts, and their aspirations for a better life, even if it means having to “japa” (leaving the country),”

    Afolayan describes the cast of ‘Ijogbon’ as robust and features the likes of Bimbo Manuel, Gabriel Afolayan, Sam Dede, Tana Adelana, Yemi Solade, Yemi Sodimu, Femi Branch, Adunni Ade, Funky Mallam, Dorathy Bachor and some young actors Ruby Akubueze, Ojuolape Kayode, Fawaz of Ikorodu Bois and Oluwaseyi Ebiesuwa.
