    Meet the Cast of Showmax’s Telenovela, Wura

    Showmax’s first original telenovela, Wura premiered on January 23, 2023, and it’s a must-watch!

    Wura centres on Wura-Amoo Adeleke, a perfect wife, a caring mother of two, and the cunning CEO of the fictional Frontline Gold Mine. Wura lives a double life – an “iron lady” when managing her business empire, and a faultless and devout woman before her family.

    It is also beautiful to see seasoned and upcoming actors in the Nollywood industry deliver excellence in this series.

    Scarlet Gomez

    Gbemisola Scarlet Shotade Gomez is an actress, singer and model. She was born in Lagos and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos.

    She began her career as a model and has participated in beauty pageants. She won the Miss United Nations Tourism pageant in December 2012 in Kingston, Jamaica.

    She got her big break in the movie industry for her lead role in the Africa Magic’s original film, Armour. She is well known for her role as ‘Fadekemi’ in the Africa Magic TV Series, Flatmates, and she is currently the lead cast in the Showmax original, Wura as ‘Wura Amoo-Adeleke’.

    Yomi Fash-Lanso

    Yomi Fash-Lanso is a veteran Nigerian actor, producer and director, who has more than 100 films to his credits. He was born on June 7 in Ebute-Metta, Lagos. He earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos. In 2014, he was nominated for Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards for his role in Omo Elemosho, the same year, he got the award for best actor in a supporting role for his role in Omo Elemosho, from NEA awards held in the US. He plays the role of Anthony Amoo-Adeleke in Wura.

    Martha Ehinome

    Martha Ehinome is a theatrically trained actor from the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Ibadan, where she majored in Acting and Speech. She acted in Africa Magic’s telenovela, Riona as ‘Esanjumi’ and the multiple award-winning feature film ‘Dear Bayo’- for which she was nominated for two BON (Best of Nollywood) awards. She loves photography, singing, creating, exploring places and being surrounded by creatives while seeking for opportunities to grow and ultimately break boundaries. She plays the role of Tumininu ‘Tumi’ Kuti in Wura.

    Ray Adeka

    Ray Adeka is a filmmaker, actor, voice-over artist and writer. He played the vicious role of ‘Agent Gambo’ in the Africa Magic series, Venge. He currently plays the villain role of Jejeloye ‘Jeje’ Amoo in.

    Iremide Adeoye

    Aka Fantasticks is a creative and award-winning entertainer. He is a young actor, performing percussionist, event host, event producer, creative director and content developer. He is a recipient of Pay Forum Awards and nominee for various awards. He started entertainment at a young age and he’s still actively involved in it.

    He has directed different creative sessions ranging from photo studio sessions to voxpop, interviews, documentaries, skits, short films.

    He has built a brand with the self-proclaimed hashtag #YourFavouriteTVBoyfriend.

    He plays the role Adelolu ‘Lolu’ Adeleke in Wura, as a queer representative.

    Ropo Ewenla

     

    Ropo is an accomplished actor, voice over artist, writer, director, producer, media entrepreneur and administrator with credits in Nigeria, Ghana, Benin Republic and South Africa. He has worked with notable directors like Wọlé Ṣóyínká, Ben Tọ́mọlójú, Níji Àkànní, Túndé Awósanmí, Túnjí Azeez, Túndé Kèlání and a host of others. He plays the role of Olusegun ‘Kuti’ in Wura

    Oluseyi Akinsola

    He plays the Femi in Wura.

    Ego Ogbaro

    Nwakaego Ihenacho Ogbaro, known professionally as Ego, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Ego has recorded songs such as “Konko Below”, “Nothing for You” and “Never Far Away. She frequently went on world tours with Nigeria’s afrobeat musician, Lagbaja.

    Lanre Adediwura

    Lanre is an Award winning Actor and a Thespian. He plays Olumide Kuti (Cobra) on Wura. He was also the 2022 BON Awards Winner of Revelation of the Year Actor.

    Adeola Awodein

    Born Adeola Olubukola Awodein, the 49-year-old Nollywood sensation is a Filmmaker, voice-over artist, and well sought after model.

    Adeola has starred in widely watched films such as Bella’s place, My Siblings and I, Tinsel, and many others. When she is not acting, she is involved in humanitarian duties such as the Cancer Awareness Walk which she carried out in Akwa Ibom sometime in 2020.

    She acted as Zira on the Africa Magic series, Dilemma, and she currently plays the role of ‘Aunty Labake’ in Wura.

    Casey Edema

    Casey Edema is an Itshekiri from Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State. He was the ex- winner of Glo Naija Sings Season 2 competition. He is a voice-over actor, a singer and a scriptwriter. He plays the role of ‘Dimeji’ in Wura

    Rhoda Albert

    Abimbola Rhoda Albert is a Nigerian voice talent and actor who speaks fluent English and Pidgin English. She identifies as a voice storyteller, and she is passionate about girl child and societal issues. She acted as Nere in the Africa Magic series, Riona, and currently plays the role of ‘Paulina’ in Wura.

    Olumuyiwa Donald

    Muyiwa is a creative director, an actor and a mobile filmmaker. He plays the role of Kazeem in Wura.

    Tersy Akpata

    Tersy is an actor, an art curator, and an entrepreneur. She hails from Epe, Lagos State. She identifies as a writer and a Youth Advocate. She plays the character of ‘Ewa’ in Wura.
