OIC Secretary-General and Mauritania’s Foreign Minister Discuss Developments in Sudan Over Telephone

Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr Hissein Brahim Taha, on 24 April 2023 held a telephone conversation with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mauritania H.E. Mr Mohamed Salem Ould Marzouk to discuss developments of the situation in Sudan.

Both sides emphasized the imperative of an immediate ceasefire and a return to the path of dialogue and negotiation. They also called for the interests of the Sudanese people to be prioritized and commitment to the humanitarian truce to ensure delivery of aid and evacuation of the wounded and the stranded, particularly in light of the precarious humanitarian conditions in the country.
