Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr Hissein Brahim Taha, on Wednesday 25 April 2023, held a telephone conversation with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, H.E. Mr Ahmed Abdul Gheit, to discuss developments of the situation in Sudan.
During the call, both sides appreciated the importance of coordination as part of regional and international efforts to diffuse the crisis. They also emphasized the imperative of compliance with the humanitarian truce to ensure delivery of humanitarian aid, achievement of immediate and permanent ceasefire and resumption of a peace process through dialogue and negotiation.
