OIC Secretary-General Congratulates Muslim World on Advent of Eid Al-Fitr of the Year 1444

His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the entire Muslim Ummah, on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, for the Hijri year 1444, and prayed to Allah the Almighty to accept the fasting of Muslims and bestow blessings unto the Muslim peoples on this occasion and that prosperity prevails all through the Muslim world.

The Secretary-General also extended his warm congratulations and best wishes to their Majesties, Excellencies and Highnesses, Kings, Presidents and Emirs of the OIC Member States.
The Secretary-General took this opportunity, on which the OIC shares celebrations with the OIC host country, to express his congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Secretary-General stressed the sublime meanings and overflowing feelings that the occasion of Eid provides, while noting the pain squeezing the hearts of the Muslim Ummah as this occasion comes at a time when the Ummah’s crises continue. He further singled out what the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first of the two Qiblahs and the third of the Two Holy Mosques, is going through in face of the fierce Israeli attacks.
He also expressed his solidarity with the Rohingya refugees who live in difficult conditions, along with other Muslim refugees in many places, including the Lake Chad basin, where these conditions limit their celebration of the Eid. He also expressed his solidarity with Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir and in various hotspots and crisis areas.

Concluding his message on this occasion, H.E. the Secretary-General expressed his hopes that peace, welfare, security, safety and prosperity will prevail in all OIC Member States and non-Member States of the OIC and the whole world, and that the causes of hatred, violence, extremism and terrorism will stop. He also voiced his hope that this occasion would be an opportunity for self-review and continuation of serious collective action to overcome the challenges that face the entire Muslim world.
