Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr Hissein Brahim Taha, received at the General Secretariat today 27 April 2023 H. E. Ambassador Dafallah El Haj Ali, Special Envoy of Sudan Transitional Sovereign Council’s President to Neighbouring States and the African Union, who presented a detailed explanation of the Sudanese Government’s position on the current situation in Sudan.
The Secretary-General expressed his hope that the humanitarian truce would continue, that a permanent ceasefire would be reached, and that security and stability would return to Sudan as soon as possible, safeguarding the security and stability of the Sudanese people and the Sudanese state and its capabilities.
The Secretary-General stated that the open-ended meeting of the OIC Executive Committee will on Wednesday 3 May 2023 discuss the situation in Sudan, a reflection of Member States’ interest in the ongoing events in Sudan and their commitment to the security, unity and stability of Sudan.
