The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), who is on an official visit to Bangladesh, held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, H.E. Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, MP, on 28 May 2023, at the State Guest House in Dhaka.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the OIC and Bangladesh and explored ways and means to further enhance it.
The OIC Secretary-General commended the leadership of Bangladesh for providing humanitarian assistance and shelter to the 1.2 million Rohingya refugees.



He also thanked Bangladesh for hosting and supporting the Islamic University of Technology (IUT).

For his part, the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh conveyed appreciation for the important role played by the OIC and for its support for the Rohingya people.

Both sides discussed a number of important issues on the agenda of the OIC and the need for increased cooperation and solidarity to address them.
