The Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner made the proclamation
in a statement released in Houston, Texas, on Friday in honour of the Nigerian
afrobeats superstar.
He declared, “I, Sylvester Turner, Mayor of the city of
Houston, do hereby proclaim July 7, 2023, as Davido Day.

artistic prowess, his impact as a cultural ambassador, and the joy he has
brought to countless fans across the globe. With ‘Davido Day’ firmly
established on the city’s calendar, Houston joins the chorus of global admirers
