Diamonds and Pearls Travels’ Olumayowa Obasanya Wins Award at Akwaaba

Mrs. Olumayowa Obasanya who was recently appointed as a Junior Partner at Diamonds and Pearls Travels Limited has been honored as one of 100 African Youths under 40 years who have done excellently in promoting Africa.

Obasanya alongside 99 other recipients of the award of the Africa Travel 100 Awards were honored at the 19th edition of the Akwaaba African Travel Market.

In previous years, Akwaaba has celebrated leaders and professionals in Tourism, Travel, Aviation, Hospitality, Media and Advocacy from different parts of Africa.

Some of the past winners are but not limited to Hon. Memunatu Pratt; Minister of Tourism, Sierra Leone, Capt. Amsale Gualu of Ethiopian Airlines, Jennifer Bamuturaki, CEO of Uganda Airlines; Caroline Olory, First Female Conservator of Park in West Africa; Hayat Blell, Sunset Beach GM, Gambia and many others.

This year, they chose to honor 100 African Youths under 40 years who have done excellently in promoting Africa, of which Olumayowa Obasanya of Diamonds and Pearls Travels Limited is one

Mrs Obasanya who is a graduate of History and International Studies from Lagos State University (LASU), joined Diamonds and Pearls Travels in 2012 as a Travel Consultant and rose to the position of the General Manager.

Her performance has been consistently excellent and she has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, good customer service and a fierce commitment and loyalty to the brand.

According to the management, “We wish her an even more resounding success in the coming years in her new appointment.”

Diamonds and Pearls Travels Limited is a registered travel company with head office in Lagos, Nigeria. The company started operations in 2010 to provide travel solutions to business travelers that required visa processing assistance to destinations where they need to attend conferences and exhibitions. They have since grown into a full-fledged travel company providing more travel services to various destinations such as flights, hotel bookings, airport transfers, cruises, tailor made packages, honeymoons, short getaways, family vacations, health insurance etc.

It could be recalled that in 2018, Diamonds and Pearls Travels Limited received an award as one of the top 100 Tour Operators in Africa at Akwaaba Africa Travel Market and in 2021, Diamonds and Pearls Travels Limited received a recognition award as the Best Travel Agency of the Year 2021 at the Densa Awards.

In November 2018, the co-founders of Diamonds and Pearls Travels, David and Wonuola Olatunde Lamidi were listed as one of the Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria by Travellers Magazine.

In September 2022, one of the Co-founders of the company, Wonuola Olatunde-Lamidi was also a winner of the prestigious award for Leading Women in Travel and Tourism in Africa by Akwaaba African Travel Market.
