    To celebrate its 150th birthday, Heineken has selected to share the festivities with everyone who is passionate about music, art, and culture. This forms part of the brand’s mission to spark connections and break down barriers which aligns with Hey Neighbour’s ethos of turning strangers into Neighbours. This dynamic partnership is all about synergy.

    To amplify the festive season’s good times, Heineken® is taking the festival to Africa with a continentwide campaign that will make Hey Neighbour a household name across ten African markets. These locations include Mozambique, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, and Nigeria to name a few.

    In other exciting news, we are also set to announce the almost never-ending, ever giving, third and final phase of the festival's line-up features a combination of the country’s biggest current exports, African legends, and more sensational international talent. So, we advise you to take a deep breath because we are about to get into it.

    Joining the already toasty Neighbourhood, international hitmaker and jam-provider REMA joins the line-up alongside legendary South African acts Mafikizolo, Prime Circle, Zakes Bantwini, Black Motion as well as Desmond and the Tutus.

    Local favourites Mörda, Kelvin Momo and DJ Zinhle have the decks on lock alongside curated live performances from Sho Madjozi, Elaine and Jamie-Lee Sexton.

    For the hip-hop heads, BLXCKIE, Youngsta CPT and A-REECE will hold it down alongside newcomer Real Dan Duminy and Uncle Partytime on the one’s and two’s. Representing one of the biggest trending genres around the world, Amapiano royalty TXC, Daliwonga, Young Stunna, Tyler ICU and Major League will be repping for the Yanos generation.

    UK Rock superstars Nothing But Thieves have also been confirmed along with thriving local alternative acts Majozi, Jeremy Loops, Monark, Max Hurrell and the Plastics.

    Hey Neighbour also sees a set of incredible brand partners joining the Hood, including Netflix, Axe, KitKat, Coke Studio and Play.

    NOTHING BUT THIEVES - Hailing from Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England, Nothing But Thieves make passionate guitar-based rock that balances indie rock artfulness with a pop sensibility. Formed in 2012, Nothing But Thieves features singer Conor Mason, guitarist Joe Langridge-Brown, guitarist Dominic Craik, bassist Philip Blake, and drummer James Price. Nothing But Thieves’ latest release ‘Moral Panic: The Complete Edition’ combines their #3 acclaimed third album Moral Panic with their 5-track EP follow-up titled Moral Panic II. Moral Panic: The Complete Edition features recent singles Futureproof, Is Everybody Going Crazy?, Real Love Song and Impossible.

    MAJOR LEAGUE - Major League DJz is a South African music duo consisting of twin brothers Bandile and Banele Mbere. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, they've garnered attention for their unique hip-hop/kwaito DJing style. One specializes in percussion, while the other focuses on DJing. Their love for music was cultivated by hip-hop and jazz during their teenage years. Starting with piano in school, they transitioned to DJing and music production after high school. Major League DJz is credited with pioneering New Age Kwaito, a trendsetting genre that revitalized traditional kwaito into modern urban culture in South Africa. Their journey exemplifies youth, ambition, and a drive for innovation.

    BLXCKIE - Blxckie, also known as Sihle Sithole, is a South African rapper, songwriter, and producer. He's a part of Clout Internet Boyz, a Durban-based hip-hop collective known for their melodic trap style. Blxckie gained massive popularity during the 2020 lockdown, starting his music journey as a young boy and officially entering the mainstream in 2020. Apple Music recognized him as an Up Next Artist and New Africa Rising Artist in March 2020. He topped MTV Base: SA's Hottest MCs list in December 2021 and is known for his platinum-certified status.

    THE PLASTICS - The Plastics are a beloved Indie-Psych pop band from South Africa.  The Plastics have been nominated for numerous awards including 3 South African Music awards. The Plastics have had 3 successive Top 10 national radio hits, 6 Top 40 national radio hits, topped numerous campus radio charts with another 10 singles, and released 12 music videos. They have played every major music festival in and extensively toured South Africa, Europe the UK  & Australia. The Plastics have a thirst for creating and sharing their music and art and aim to captivate, inspire, and push their limits with every release.

    YOUNGSTA CPT - With 30 mixtapes, 6 EP’s, 2 collaboration albums, one solo album and numerous accolades under his belt which include the “Lyricist Of The Year” (2017), Best Video and Album Of The Year (2019) from the South African Hip Hop Awards. Youngsta CPT (Riyadh Roberts) is regarded as one of the most important hip hop artists of his generation. The 30 year old rapper has been described as ‘the voice of the people’ with his lyrical brilliance acting as a verbal tour guide to life in the notorious Cape Town flats. Raised in the heart of Wittebome/Wynberg in the southern suburbs of the Western Cape. Youngsta CPT’s aspirations were ignited at the age of 12, where he wrote and recorded his first track in the same year. Youngsta CPT is a story-teller who brings his view of his beloved hometown to the surface.

    MAX HURRELL - Born in London, raised in Africa, Max Hurrell is a DJ & amp; Music Producer known for his captivating performances and online antics. The creator of the lockdown anthem ‘ZOL’ has garnered over  12 000 000 streams on his music, and plans to debut a plethora of new unreleased songs at Hey Neighbour Festival in December.

    DALIWONGA - When asked how and when his love for music began, Daliwonga attributes his passion to his father who centred his household around music. Born and bred in Soweto, Zone One, music played a vital role in his daily life. His musical career began in primary school where he formed a music group with his friends,  in high school he decided to leave the group and chase his independence. In 2019, Daliwonga broke out into the very fertile amapiano scene with on Luu Nineelevent’s album “Simatasatasa” 2020 started with Daliwonga being introduced to the multi-talented performer and producer DJ Maphorisa and the rest is ,as they say, History.  Daliwonga continues to cement himself as a talented musician and an artist on the rise with multiple collaborations with artists including DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, Madumane, Nia Pearl, MDU aka TRP, XolaniGuitars, Souloho Tyler ICU, and Nicole Elocin. Daliwonga continues to prove to be one of the greatest singers of our time.

    TYLER ICU - Tyler ICU has become a household name in the South African producing scene. He began his musical career in 2006, making beats out of the back room of his home. His inspiration to join the music industry came from Dr Dre. In 2016 Tyler ICU  met Mas Musiq and the two artists collaborated on several unreleased projects along with Vyno Miller. One of the unreleased projects found its way to the ears of multi-talented producer and artist, DJ Maphorisa. In 2019 he contributed to the songs such as “It’s You” and “Emazulwini” off BET award-winner Shasha’s EP “Blossom”. Tyler ICU proceeded to produce Dr Peppa’s hit “What it is” which features Riky Rick, Lucasraps and Chang Cello. Following the success of the song, Tyler ICU went on to collaborate with one of Africa’s biggest artists, Cassper Nyovest. Tyler has to date produced the biggest amapiano song titled “Mnike” and has cemented himself as one of the best music producers currently.

    A-REECE - A-Reece, Real Name Lehlogonolo Ronald Mataboge, South African Rapper And Songwriter Born And Bred In The Capital City, Pretoria. His Musical Journey Began When His Older Brother Would Play Underground And Commercial Hip Hop Around Him Almost Everyday. Although Hip Hop Was Not The Only Genre Of Music That Was Played In His Household, Hip Hop Appealed To Him The Most From A Very Young Age. So Much So That By The Time He Was 10 Years Old, A- Reece Had Already Started Writing His Own Music. A-Reece Released His First Mixtape ‘forever King’ In 2013 which Caught The South African Hip-Hop Industry’s Attention In 2014.In 2015 He Released His 2nd Ep ‘best Things In Life Are Free’ Which Got Him Signed To Ambitiouz Entertainment. A-Reece Released His Debut Album Paradise, Which Shot Straight To Number 1 On Apple And Itunes And Won Him The Best Lyricists Award At The South African Hip Hop Awards In 2016.

    DESMOND AND THE TUTUS - Desmond and the Tutus have been gallivanting across the world’s stages with their unique brand of indie rock for around fifteen years now, and have carved out a niche for themselves that no band can emulate. Their discography is a collection of kwela melodies and indie-punk aesthetic, with their last album Enjoy Yourself (2015) winning a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Rock Album in 2016, and album’s lead single “Pretoria Girls” peaking at #1 on the 5FM Top 40 chart, earning them an MTV Africa Music Awards nomination. Having toured extensively throughout Europe and Japan, and opening for indie giants Two Door Cinema Club, Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah, and The Drums in South Africa, The Tutus have even played a super rad, totally unique show for a deaf audience at Joburg’s popular Bassline venue. Fifteen years down the line and Desmond and the Tutus still channel a high level of energy that is cheeky and infectious, putting on a spectacle of a live show that is enjoyed by all and is rivalled by few.

    ELAINE - Born Ndivhuwo Elaine Mukheli in Pretoria, South Africa, Elaine, a 23-year-old RnB Singer breaking continental boundaries by giving R&B a fresh face. While studying in law school, Elaine had the urge to create her first project that later shaped into The now-Platinum - Elements. Self-released in September 2019, the 7-song certified-platinum collection blends mellow yet sweet R&B melodies with hints of trap-inspired moodiness and catapulted Elaine to becoming the first independent female artist to ever reach #1 on the Apple Music Sub-Saharan African charts. Following the success of her debut EP, Elaine signed a record deal with Columbia Records and moved to Los Angeles, California. Her new single “Deja Vu”follows the release of her dreamy single “Shine” and the sleek banger “Right Now,” which received coverage from NYT, UPROXX, HYPEBEAST, Teen Vogue and more.     MAFIKIZOLO - ​​It has been 25 years since Mafikizolo burst on the local music scene. A quarter of a century later, the Afro-pop band still oozes energy, going strong, filling up venues, performing all over the world and winning legions of new fans. Their story is a masterclass in relevance, longevity and grace. Their albums Six Mabone, Van Toeka Af, Kwela and Sibongile cemented their place in the music landscape. Nhlanhla’s melodic voice, vintage fashion and style evolution accompanied by her trademark sunglasses became a fixture in entertainment, while Theo’s crooning, his dance moves, suits and hats set him apart from his peers. It is through sheer hard work, determination, consistency and respect for the craft that Mafikizolo has emerged as one of the most preeminent groups on the African continent with a growing following. There is nothing to slow them down as they charged forward to the next 25 years.

    JAMIE-LEE SEXTON - Hailing from the tiny town of Magaliesburg, just outside of Johannesburg, Jamie-Lee Sexton started singing and writing her own music at the tender age of 4years old. Her powerful vocals and mosaic of musical talents; are a progressive product of her pursuit of music from her childhood. Playing guitar and piano from her adolescence, jamie-lee was always destined for something greater than what the small town she grew up in could offer.  Her first single- it’s true, off her ep medicine woman which was released in 2022, was a collection of self-expression and creativity. Jamie-Lee says, “i needed to live a little, to have something to write about”. There after Jamie-Lee released 4 other sinlges from the same ep, which all had great achievement and radio charting success. The ep debut at number 1 on apple music. These songs are in a league of their own with refreshing melodies, instrumental hooks and a touch of 80’s and 90’s pop revival. Bursting with moving beats and catchy riff’s, these songs are like a melodic earworm that are bound to have you humming along long after the song has ended.     TXC - TxC stands out in a world abundant with talent as a distinctive amalgamation of DJs and performers. Comprised of Tarryn Reid and Clairise Hefke, this dynamic duo originates from South Africa, a nation renowned for producing global luminaries such as Trevor Noah, Nelson Mandela, Elon Musk, and Charlize Theron. In the midst of the challenging circumstances brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, TxC emerged as trailblazers, introducing a groundbreaking performance approach and innovative online song-breaking technique. Their exhilarating DJ sets and captivating stage presence propelled them to international recognition, gracing the prestigious FIFA World Cup stage alongside Budweiser and sharing the spotlight with acclaimed artists like Burna Boy and Davido. Hailing from Gqeberha, South Africa, TxC embarked on an extraordinary journey that ultimately brought them to the vibrant music scene of Johannesburg, where they solidified their position as a powerhouse in the industry.     UNCLE PARTY TIME - Uncle Partytime, a distinguished DJ, renowned for his expert command over Hip-Hop and Alternative music. His journey in the realm of music commenced in 2015 where he embraced his destiny as a DJ. Early in his career, he embraced the role of a performance DJ for a prominent rap artist, subsequently embarking on a path to forge his own musical identity. This juncture marked the revelation of Uncle Partytime's remarkable versatility, as he fearlessly delved into an array of genres beyond the realm of Hip-Hop, notably embracing the realm of alternative music. His talents resonated not only within South Africa but also transcended borders, captivating audiences in countries such as Swaziland, Lesotho, and Ghana during his notable Accra tour. From humble beginnings in Braamfontein bars, his performances now resonate with thousands across South Africa and beyond. He's shared stages with global icons like ASAP Ferg, Skepta, Wiley, Joey Badass, Vince Staples, Uno The Activist and NSG, Buddy, Guapdad4000 and BAS amplifying the Uncle Partytime brand.

    SHO MADJOZI - In four short years, Sho Madjozi has become one of South Africa’s brightest and boldest stars and an accomplished, multi award winning artist with a singular artistry that is earning her a devoted – and growing - audience across the world. Sho (real name Maya Wegerif) has done this while remaining the pride of her Limpopo province birthplace and wearing the influences of her cosmopolitan upbringing loudly and proudly. By fusing languages (Tsonga, English and Swahili), genres (gqom, Afro-pop and hip hop) and fashion (the traditional xibelani skirt with Air Force Ones), Sho pays homage to her Tsonga heritage while embellishing on elements of it with a global sensibility. Combining hip hop hooks with catchy gqom-rooted melodies, Sho’s audacious energy and colourful aesthetic has made her a trendsetting, household name and presence that could be felt from the very first reverberating bassline of her debut single, “Dumi Hi Phone” (2018). This remarkable artist recently penned a historic deal with Epic Records, becoming the first African artist on their roster in America. Sho is currently working on a new album, due for global release in 2022.

    BLACK MOTION - Black Motion was formed in 2010, by Murdah Bongz (born Robert Mahosana), and Thabo (born Roy Thabo Mabogwane)they are from Soshanguve. That same year, they joined Faimos Entertainment and released their first single "Banane Mavoko" featuring Jah Rich, which gained them international recognition. Their debut album Talking to the Drums was released in 2011. Both musicians came of age during the house music boom of the '90s and when they formed Black Motion in 2010, their aim was to infuse it with a more regional identity. Embracing native drums and other instrumentations. Their debut album Talking to the Drums was released in 2011. Their third studio album Fortune Teller was released in 2014.The album was certified gold in South Africa. At the 21st ceremony of South African Music Awards Fortune Teller won Best Dance Album.In 2016, they signed a record deal with Sony and began working on their fourth studio album. Ya Badimo was released on October 28, 2016, worldwide.The album won Best Dance Album at 23rd ceremony of South African Music Awards and was certified platinum. The duo has since gone their separate ways however Black motion still stands with the addition of Problem Child Ten83 (born Kabelo Koma).

    MONARK - Hailing from Potchefstroom, pop rock band Monark, With two full-length albums and no less than 8 consecutive Top 10 radio singles to their name, MONARK needs no introduction when it comes to commercial success across the airwaves. The band catapulted into the limelight in early 2013 with their debut single ‘Smiling’, and their debut album, Negatives was nominated for 3 SAMA XXI Awards: Best Producer, Best Pop Album and Record of the Year for their single ‘Build It Up’. 

    When COVID hit, the band all had families to take care of and, with no means of income from music, they chose to get past the pandemic first. After slowly coming out of the grips of COVID, they felt inspired to put pen to paper for some new songs and realised they still had so much more to give to their fans and the local music scene.

    ZAKES BANTWINI - Zakhele Madida professionally known as Zakes Bantwini, is a South African singer, record producer and businessman. Born from KwaMashu F-section, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He has worked with fellow musician Black Coffee, with whom he collaborated on the song "Juju". Bantwini is an exceptional musician. With a Jazz and Popular music Diploma, this star has helped establish the Durban Kwaito Music (DKM), a music genre that is a blend of Kwaito lyrics and house beats. A renowned record producer, record executive, and musician, Zakes Bantwini has established himself within the South African music industry and beyond. Other than music, Zakes is a family man, pioneer, and businessman. His contributions towards developing music in South Africa will be remembered forever. Now a grammy award winning musician, Zakes Bantwini has reached heights many artists still dream of reaching.

    YOUNG STUNNA - Sandile Fortune Msimango, popularly known by his stage name Young Stunna is a South African singer. He is known for his hit singles "Bopha" and "Adiwele". He has also extensively worked with record producers DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small. Young Stunna is Zulu and uses Zulu and Xhosa in most of his songs. Stunna's debut studio album Notumato (2021), reached number 1 in South Africa. Notumato became his first commercially successful album and certified Platinum.

    MAJOZI - Singer / Songwriter & Lover of People. Hailing from the coastal city of Durban, Majozi is a proudly South African musician who wears his heart on his sleeve – quite literally. He has tattoos dedicated to his faith and to his mother - two very defining aspects of his life, both of which have inspired the music he writes. He burst onto the scene in 2013 with his catchy debut EP, Marvelous Light, before signing to Universal Music South Africa in 2014. After his follow-up, first full-length album, "Fire", debuted in the iTunes Top 3, the music industry really started to take notice.

    DJ ZINHLE - DJ Zinhle started her career around 2004 as her brother's passion for mixing vinyls rubbed off on her and her love and passion for being a DJ grew. She got her first break as a resident DJ on a youth dance show called Jika Majika that aired on SABC 1. She worked with South African music icon Boom Shaka on the album I Put It In, which featured other notable artists like Dr Malinga, Khanyi Mbau, Mphoza, and many more. At the second ceremony of Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards, she won two awards including; Best House DJ and Best House Female Artist. Her 2019 hit single "Umlilo" gained 5.1 million streams and went 3× platinum and most recently, Thula" by Zinhle and Cici released on July 7, 2023 debuted number 3 in South Africa and charted number 1 on Metro FM Top 30 Countdown charts. 

    PRIME CIRCLE - Prime Circle is regarded as South African rock royalty with numerous awards, six studio albums which have achieved multi-platinum status, several chart-topping singles and sold-out tours to its name. Known as one of the most loved bands in the country, the group is also recognised on the international stage and has management in Germany. In the past few years Prime Circle has made strong inroads into the UK and European markets, gigging intensively and being playlisted on radio and headlining major rock festivals. Since its formation in 2001, Prime Circle has demonstrated unmatched staying power with a dynamic sound that continues to evolve. Its success can be attributed to the fact that the members constantly challenge themselves while exploring new geographical and musical horizons.

    MÖRDA - Bongani Mohosana (born June 9, 1987) known professionally as Mörda or Murdah Bongz, is a South African DJ, record producer, singer and dancer. He is well known as being a former member of the musical band Black Motion. He developed a passion and interest in music at a young age. He joined the church choir, where he learnt how to play musical instruments and was also involved in singing. He then developed his skills as a music composer, dancer and vocalist. Several years after the band's founding, though, both decided to pursue solo careers. Murdah Bongz then changed his stage name to Mörda. In 2022, he released his first solo debut album, Asante, which was named after his daughter. In September 2023, Mörda announced his second studio album Asante II, which was released on September 29, 2023.

    KELVIN MOMO - Kelvin Momo, Thato Kelvin Ledwaba,  is a Disk Jockey, producer, and songwriter. He has dropped and featured in many amapiano hits. He is well known for the private school amapiano, a fusion of jazz, deep house, and lounge. The DJ has released many singles and albums, which houses many tracks, that is now an anthem. He is a force to be reckoned with within the music space. The DJ featured C.A Souls in his 2019 debut single Abantu Bethu. He also dropped Yelele feat. Luu Nineleven and DJ Stoks. He was featured on the ninth edition of the influential label House Afrika’s Mzansi House compilation. In 2020, he dropped his first album, Momo’s Private School, under amapiano pioneer Kabza De Small’s label Piano Hub. Kelvin Momo has since been dubbed the best private amapiano dj by many supporters and has since dropped 3 classic amapiano albums.

    REAL DAN DUMINY - Dan Duminy, born Daniel Wesley Duminy on 16th February 2001, is a singer/songwriter from Durban Kwazulu natal who rose to fame in the past 3 years dropping music with popular SA superstars such as Nasty C, Blackie, Rowlene and the list goes on. Dan has been abroad working on his debut album in Los Angeles for the past two years and making a name for himself in the United States while rubbing shoulders with industry legends such as Diame Warren and many more. Dan has always been musically inclined from a young age, he loved playing musical instruments such as the guitar and drums but focused on furthering his passion with music through using his voice. He first dropped his hit song With us featuring Blackie & Crownedlung in 2020 which followed with another single from the trio in 2022 that brought major success and attention to Dan in South Africa. His single let me down' from his latest drop in 2023 featuring Nasty C has found a space in the south African market and abroad and has given Dan his own carved out space in the market.

    JEREMY LOOPS - South African Jeremy Loops, born Jeremy Hewitt in Kommetjie, Cape Town, was a modern folk singer/songwriter and environmental activist. As his name suggests, he relied on loop pedals as integral parts of his live performances, and would often borrow elements from across the genre spectrum, including hip-hop, electronica, and traditional African music. In January 2015, he released “Down South” (featuring Motheo Moleko), the lead single from his debut album Trading Change. Peaking at number one on South African Top 40 radio stations 5fm, 94.7, and Jacaranda FM, the breakout song’s popularity drew a lot of attention to his album. Upon release in South Africa in April 2015, Trading Change debuted at No. 1 on iTunes South Africa. In support of the album, Loops spent 2015 touring South Africa. In the buildup to Trading Change’s August 2015 North American release, Loops toured the United States three times. First securing a support slot on the Winter Greens Tour, headlined by reggae band Rebelution. This was followed up with two headline US tours of his own, namely the Jeremy Loops US Tour and the Trading Change Tour. n Europe, Loops supported Twenty One Pilots on their Blurryface Tour in September 2015, and followed that up with his own headlining tours, Continental Drift and the European leg of the Trading Change Tour. Trading Change was released in Europe on 26 February 2016. In a 2023, Loops released the album Critical as Water.
