Prof Adegbulugbe is slated to be officially installed as
Chancellor on Friday, December 8.
The university, which established in 2004 under divine
guidance from the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) worldwide, takes its name from
the revered spiritual leader, Joseph Ayo Babalola (1904–1959).
It stands at the historic site where the late Apostle
Babalola was called by God to confront the Ogobungo monster in 1928.
Noteworthy individuals have held the position of Chancellor
at JABU in the past, with the former Minister of Finance under Chief Ernest
Shonekan’s Interim Government, Oba Oladele Olashore (CON), as the inaugural
Chancellor.
Adegbulugbe, an ordained Pastor of the Christ Apostolic
Church, brings a wealth of experience as an accomplished energy expert in both
the public and private sectors in Nigeria and internationally.
His recognition extends beyond his recent appointment, as he
was honored by the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, last June.
He received the inaugural University Award of Excellence in
Research Practice, a prestigious acknowledgment for his outstanding
knowledge-based accomplishments at global and national levels.
Furthermore, Adegbulugbe’s contributions to the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Assessment Reports played a
pivotal role in securing the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, shared with US Vice
President Al Gore.
