    Tinubu Airport Minna Gets $3.2m Army Aviation Hangar


    An Army Aviation Hangar worth $3.2 Million is to be established at the newly renovated Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna.

    The coordinator, Nigerian Army Aviation, Brig. Gen. Musa Alkali told Niger State governor Mohammed Umaru Bago during a courtesy call in Minna that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna passed all the checklists for the creation of the hangar and the approval of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) as well as the Federal Ministry of Aviation.

    He said the construction of the hanger which would be of immense economic benefits to the state would commence in no distant future adding that the Minna hanger when completed will have 12 attack helicopters MD530 series,10 TB2 UAVs and 8 Magnus Light attack Aircraft for surveillance, reconnaissance and patrol as well as other activities.

    He further stated that with the creation of the hangar in Minna, the delay associated with maintenance of aircraft would be eliminated and the elites with private jets can park them in Minna at a minimum cost.

    Bago who applauded the Nigerian Army Headquarters for approving the establishment of the Aviation Hangar in Minna disclosed that the project  would be financed by the Pan-African Business Forum, as its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

    He described the idea as a welcome development noting that the creation of the hanger in Minna would improve the economy of the state and boost the confidence of investors. Consequently, he said the state government will be investing in the hospitality industry to be able to cater for those who may want to come to the state for business.
