She Leads Africa, CFYE Launch Initiative to Empower 1000 Female Nigerian Graduates with Job Opportunities

The SLA Level Up Program aims to provide employability training and connect 1000 female graduates with jobs by 2025.

She Leads Africa (SLA) is stepping up to address the pressing issue of unemployment and underemployment, particularly among female graduates in Nigeria. Through the SLA Level Up Program EmployHer Pathway, SLA is offering tailored solutions to empower female graduates as they navigate the competitive job market.

The program delivers comprehensive skills training, invaluable resources, business career coaching by seasoned industry experts, hands-on experience through capstone projects and internships.

The SLA Level-Up Program (‘EmployHer’ and ‘Bosspreneur’ Pathway) is an initiative in partnership with the Challenge Fund For Youth Employment (CFYE), focused on solving the unemployment challenge amongst youth and women in Nigeria.

By providing personalized guidance and facilitating strategic job placements, SLA is fostering a new generation of empowered female professionals poised to make meaningful contributions to society.

According to the World Bank, as of 2022, women constituted about 49% of the estimated 201 million population in Nigeria, and the labor force participation rate among women was 52% in comparison to 65.5% among men.

Over 65 graduates have benefitted from training in key areas such as Project
Management, Digital Marketing, Operations, and Finance, with more than 100 currently in class. These numbers represent tangible progress towards our goal of empowering 1000 female Nigerian graduates by 2025.

Olajumoke Akinyode, Head of Operations and Programs at She Leads Africa, emphasizes the program's commitment to empowering women:
"The SLA Level Up Program embodies our belief in the transformative power of education and mentorship. By equipping women with essential skills and confidence, we're preparing them to thrive in today's competitive landscape."

The EmployHer Pathway addresses both the unemployment challenge among Nigerian female graduates and also contributes to Sustainable Development Goals SDG 1(Ending Poverty), (SDG) 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
