Afrobeats music has experienced a significant increase in popularity on a global scale, according to a statement made by David Adeleke, a Grammy-nominated musician better known by his stage name, Davido.

During a Hiptv panel discussion with the United States Advisory Council on Africa Diaspora Engagement and Leaders in Nigeria’s Creative Industries, Davido shared this information.

The artist known for the song “Unavailable” mentioned that Afrobeats musicians are now commanding ticket prices comparable to those of well-known pop and hip-hop artists such as Drake.

It Is worth noting that the revenue generated from a single afrobeats track has the potential to create long-term financial stability and prosperity for multiple generations.

“Afrobeats Artists are selling the same tickets as Drake. Now one song as an Afrobeats artiste can change your generation,” he said.

Davido, a renowned music artist, emphasized the significance of collaboration among young artists within their own circles rather than solely pursuing international collaborations. He highlighted that when artists collaborate with their friends and peers, they tend to invest their full effort and dedication into the creative process, resulting in exceptional outcomes.
