The Grammy Award-winning musician, Damini Ogulu, known
professionally as Burna Boy, has made a discreet criticism of his peer Davido’s
marital status, suggesting that it does not represent an ideal model to
emulate.
This was in response to a suggestion from an X.com user that
Burna Boy should follow the example set by Davido, often referred to as OBO,
and consider getting married in the near future.
The user, tweeting as #BadLieutenant on Saturday, suggested
that Burna Boy consider planning for his future by getting married and starting
a family.
“OBO has already set an example. You’re over 33 now, and you
need to understand that you’re not getting any younger.”
Burna Boy responded by stating his preference to remain in
his current state, inquiring if the individual was not observing the challenges
faced by Davido.
“Baba make I just dey as I dey abeg, u nor see wetin him dey
face like dis?” Burna Boy replied.
When another user tweeting as #RealDreylo, teased him about
his response, Burna Boy asked, “But between me and you, Shey na betta example
the guy use?”
A third user, #SunOfOba, then asked if Adekunle Gold’s
marriage was a better example, to which Burna Boy replied, “Ehen! That’s what
we’re praying for, bros.”
David Adeleke, a prominent musician, is currently involved
in a legal dispute with his former partner, Ms. Sophia Momodu, regarding the
custody of their child.
It is pertinent to note that Davido, recently formalized his
union with his long-term partner, Chioma Rowland, in an elaborate ceremony held
in Lagos.
