France’s head coach, Didier Deschamps, made a strategic decision to replace forward Antoine Griezmann with Ousmane Dembele for the upcoming Euro 2024 semi-final match against France in Munich on Tuesday.
Mr. Griezmann has participated in four out of five matches
thus far in the competition, however, he has not been able to ignite the French
offense, which has yet to score without assistance.
France has conceded three goals in the tournament, two of
which were own goals and the other a penalty converted by captain Kylian
Mbappe.
The French national football team, commonly known as Les
Bleus, has maintained an impressive defensive record throughout the ongoing
tournament, successfully preventing any goals from being scored against them
during open play. The sole goal conceded by the team resulted from a penalty
kick taken by Robert Lewandowski, the renowned Polish striker.
Due to injuries and suspensions, Spain’s coach, Luis de la
Fuente, has been compelled to make three adjustments to his starting lineup.
Notably, Dani Olmo will replace the injured Pedri..
During the quarter-final match between Spain and Germany,
Pedri sustained an early knee injury, necessitating his substitution. Olmo
replaced Pedri and subsequently received the man of the match award for his
outstanding performance, which included scoring a goal and providing an assist.
Due to the suspensions of defenders Dani Carvajal and Robin
Le Normand, the responsibility of monitoring Mbappé will fall upon Jesus Navas,
aged 38, and Nacho, aged 34.
