Afrobeats vocalist, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, professionally known as Ayra Starr, has shared her perspective on why she remains unfazed by adverse criticisms.

The renowned singer of the popular song “Woman Commando” expressed her indifference towards criticism, stating that the majority of her detractors are likely experiencing depression and struggling with financial difficulties. She emphasized that expending energy on concerns about public opinion is an unproductive use of time.

In a recent interview with Dose Society, Starr shared his insights and perspectives, “What matters less? I think opinions and people’s perceptions of you doesn’t [matter].

“Trust me, people are living their lives. Everybody is busy. People are hungry. Stop caring and stop thinking what people are thinking about you. People are hungry, tired. Life is hard. Just do you.

“Sometimes, you’re there overthinking, ‘what does this person think about me?’ Then, they’re just like, ‘what’s gonna happen today? Am I gonna make it home?’

“There’s a lot happening in the world, and if you spend your time thinking about what people think about you, you’re just gonna waste time. Do you, find yourself. Be confident in yourself. Don’t care about the outcome. Just do. Don’t be afraid to fail. Fail as many times as you want to but when you get it right, you’re going to be so proud of yourself.”
