NITDA Alerts Android Users in Nigeria to Watch Out for Four Malicious Apps

Our attention has been drawn to the recent discovery by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) of several malicious applications targeting Android users in Nigeria.

NITDA has recently discovered multiple harmful apps that are specifically aimed at Android users in Nigeria. These apps have been created to breach devices, pilfer confidential data, and violate user privacy.

With the growing sophistication of cybercriminals, it is imperative for individuals to maintain vigilance and stay informed about potential threats.

Malicious applications can pose as legitimate software, often employing enticing features or services to deceive users into downloading them. Once installed, these applications can execute harmful activities such as data theft, unauthorized access to personal information, and financial fraud.

In its recent public service announcement, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has identified four highly malicious applications that Android users in Nigeria should avoid.

By remaining vigilant against these threats and adopting secure mobile practices, Nigerian citizens can safeguard their devices and personal information from cyberattacks. The following four applications, as per NITDA’s advisory, are known to carry malware:

    1. Crazy Game

    2. Sexy Videos

    3. TikToks
