In pursuit of this goal, the INE has successfully finalized several key phases in preparation for the 2024 Census.

The Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE), tasked with the production and dissemination of official statistics for the Government of the Republic of Angola, has announced the scheduling of its second General Population and Residency Census for 2024.

In preparation for this significant event, the INE has successfully completed several critical phases, including the updating of the Census Mapping Grid across the entire National Territory. This update has enabled the revision of over 92,000 census sections, followed by a coordinated Pilot Census conducted in seven provinces, 14 municipalities, and 14 communities throughout the country.

With these preparatory steps finalized, the INE has also conducted training sessions for Provincial, Municipal, and Community Technical Assistants, under the guidance of the National Technical Group. Furthermore, the Technical Group has actively engaged in efforts across the nation to mobilize and inform the public about what will be the largest statistical operation in a decade.

The framework is now fully established for the commencement of the General Population and Residency Census, set to begin on September 19 and to continue for a duration of 30 days.
