The highly anticipated youth tournament, Lagos Campus Beach Soccer, is scheduled to take place from October 19th to 20th, 2024, at Elegushi Beach in Lekki, Lagos.

This event, themed “Addressing Substance Abuse and Addiction,” aims to confront the growing problem of substance abuse and addiction among young people in Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.

In a recent press conference held in Lagos, the Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Grassroots Sports Development, Mr. Adebanji Atewogboye, announced that Lagos Campus Beach Soccer, organized by the Lagos State Government in collaboration with BrandEscort Communications, will attract participants from all higher education institutions in the state.

“We are delighted to bring together all higher education institutions from across the state for two days of competitive soccer, sportsmanship, and outdoor enjoyment. Lagos Campus Beach Soccer provides an exceptional platform for students to showcase their talents, foster team cohesion, and interact with peers from various institutions,” stated Mr. Atewogboye.

Bamidele Adeleye, Managing Director of BrandEscort Communications and Convener of the event, announced that the 2024 edition, scheduled to be held at Elegushi Beach in Lekki, is expected to attract thousands of fun lovers from various campuses and across the state.

“We are confident that the students will gain significant benefits from this experience. The tournament will feature teams from various institutions, ensuring a diverse and dynamic competition,” said Adeleye.

“We will also be hosting ‘Campus Stomping,’ a promotional event, at various institutions across the state commencing in September. During Campus Stomping, students will have the opportunity to engage in various outdoor games and win gift items, as well as complimentary tickets to attend the grand finale of the event at Elegushi Beach,” he added.

He called upon corporate organizations to collaborate with the state government in finding a sustainable solution to the concerning prevalence of drug abuse and addiction among the youth in the state.
