Chidimma Adetshina, the representative from Taraba State, has been named Miss Universe Nigeria 2024.

Her path to this prestigious title has been extraordinary, reflecting the strength and elegance reminiscent of the recent Miss Universe South Africa controversy that led to her disqualification.

Africa Fact Zone shared this news in a video on X last night, stating, “Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024.” As reported by Pop Pulse, she is set to represent Nigeria on the international stage in Mexico.

“Chidimma Adetshina has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024!” the post read. “She’ll be representing Nigeria at the Miss Universe grand finale in Mexico this November. Congratulations, Chidimma,” it added.

The media entertainment channel based in South Africa announced the win through a post on its X account, #Pop_PulseZa.

In her acceptance speech, Chidimma expressed that this victory belongs to everyone, emphasizing that it serves as a genuine call for unity.

Adetshina, 23, withdrew from the Miss South Africa Beauty Pageant 2024 after facing criticism from South Africans regarding her eligibility to compete.

Her decision to step back was influenced by details on the organization’s website indicating that she was born in South Africa to a Nigerian father and a mother from Mozambique.

The organizers confirmed her status as a naturalized South African.

In light of the ongoing harassment directed at her and threats made against her family following her exit, Guy Murray-Bruce, the National Director of Miss Universe Nigeria, extended an invitation for her to participate in the recently concluded MUN 2024.

Last week, she expressed her ambition to win and her eagerness to immerse herself in Nigerian culture.

She said, “It’s been 20 years since I’ve been here, so I just wanna get to know more about Nigeria’s culture and where I really come from.”

The law student reiterated her desire to win the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant.

“My goal is to obviously win the crown for Miss Universe Nigeria,” Adetshina had stated.

It was previously announced that the Miss Universe Nigeria camp commenced officially on August 24, with 24 contestants arriving at the prestigious Festival Hotel in Festac, Lagos.

Information sourced from the MUN website indicates that this pageant was established in 2023 as a derivative of the well-known Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant, typically organized by Silverbird Communications.
