Delta Airlines has announced the appointment of Mary Gbobaniyi as the new Sales Manager for West Africa, effective immediately.
This information was conveyed in a statement issued by Manoj
Kuraikose, the General Manager of Sales for the Middle East, Africa, and India,
on Tuesday.
Gbobaniyi will be stationed in Lagos, where she will manage
Delta's sales and commercial activities throughout the West African region,
which includes the airline's significant online destinations in Nigeria, Ghana,
and Senegal.
“Additionally, she will support Delta’s joint venture
partners, including Air France, KLM, and Virgin Atlantic.
“I am excited to have her on board and look forward to the
experience and knowledge she will bring to our already amazing team,” Kuraikose
stated.
Gbobaniyi brings a significant amount of experience in the
aviation sector to Delta, having spent nine years as the Sales Manager for
Nigeria at Emirates.
Prior to her role at Emirates, she dedicated six years to
Lufthansa German Airlines, where she ultimately held the position of Regional
Manager for Key Accounts.
The airline highlighted her extensive expertise in sales and
management, along with a profound understanding of the aviation market, which
positions her as a vital asset to Delta’s leadership team in West Africa.
Gbobaniyi earned her Bachelor of Science in Business
Information Technology and Marketing from London Metropolitan University and
holds a GNVQ Advanced in Business Studies from Westminster Kingsway College in
London, UK.
In her remarks regarding her new role, she expressed
