A minimum of eight nations have secured their spots in the knockout phase of the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup taking place in Colombia.

The nations that have advanced include Nigeria, Germany, Spain, the USA, Brazil, France, Mexico, and Colombia.

This development follows Nigeria's decisive 4-0 victory over Venezuela on Saturday, alongside Germany's narrow 1-0 loss to South Korea.

It is worth noting that Nigeria's Falconets qualified for the second round of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after their win against Venezuela.

Under the leadership of Chris Danjuma, the team finished second in Group D, trailing only Germany.

Both teams accumulated six points from three matches, but Germany held the advantage with a better goal difference.

In other matches, the Netherlands is set to face North Korea later today, while Argentina will compete against Costa Rica.
