Jaiz Bank, Nigeria's first Non-Interest Bank, has been recognized as the Most Promising Islamic Bank globally for 2024.

The Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) announced this honor yesterday during the Global Islamic Finance Summit (GIFS) held in the scenic Republic of Maldives, where Jaiz Bank triumphed over two other highly regarded nominees in this category.

Professor Humayon Dar, Chairman of GIFA, stated, "The GIFA Awards Committee conducted a thorough evaluation of various institutions within this category. After an extensive assessment based on multiple criteria outlined in the GIFA methodology, Jaiz Bank Plc was chosen for this prestigious recognition."

He emphasized that the Bank was acknowledged for solidifying its leadership role as a financial institution distinguished by remarkable growth potential, innovation, and strong financial performance.

Upon receiving the award, Haruna Musa (Ph.D.), the Managing Director/CEO of Jaiz Bank Plc, expressed his appreciation on behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff of the Bank.

He highlighted the importance of this accolade, noting that "it represents a significant milestone in achieving the Bank’s strategic vision," and emphasized that this recognition supports Jaiz Bank’s ambition to become one of Africa’s foremost non-interest financial institutions within the next five years.

The MD/CEO also recalled that the Bank had previously received the GIFA’s Most Improved Islamic Bank Award in both 2020 and 2021.
