Lincoln University Malaysia has announced an initiative to provide 80% scholarships to 2,500 underprivileged Nigerian students as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts. This announcement was made by the university's founder, Prof. Amiya Bhaumik, during the matriculation ceremony for 500 students held at the Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) campus in Nasarawa State.

Prof. Bhaumik highlighted that the scholarship program is designed to address the increasing demand for high-quality international education in Nigeria. He mentioned that this initiative would enable students to pay tuition fees similar to those charged by government-owned institutions in the country.

Professor Bibi Florina, the Pro-Chancellor of Lincoln University, reaffirmed the institution's dedication to developing future global leaders and emphasized the importance of the collaboration between Lincoln University and NSUK.

At the ceremony, NSUK Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, expressed enthusiasm about NSUK being the first Nigerian university to host an international institution on its campus.

Mr. Kichime Gotau, Head of Public Affairs at Lincoln University’s NSUK campus, stressed that the scholarship program aims to close the educational gap between privileged and underprivileged students, ensuring that all deserving candidates have access to quality education.

Yusrah Ishaq, one of the new students, expressed her optimism, noting that parents made a wise decision in choosing to send their children to this institution.
