Nollywood is experiencing a remarkable rise on the global stage with its newest release, Tòkunbò, helmed by the renowned actor Ramsey Nouah. The film has rapidly climbed into the Top 5 on Netflix in 183 countries, garnering substantial international interest.

This success is particularly notable in major markets like Argentina and Brazil, reinforcing Nollywood's expanding presence in the global entertainment industry, as reported by Flix Patrol, which tracks VOD charts and streaming ratings worldwide.

Debuting on August 23, 2024, Tòkunbò is produced by Chris Odeh and features a skilled ensemble cast that includes Gideon Okeke, Chidi Mokeme, Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, and Nobert Young.

Although it holds a below-average rating on IMDb, the film has successfully engaged audiences around the globe, demonstrating that viewer interest can diverge from critical assessments. As a crime thriller, Tòkunbò represents Nouah’s third venture into directing in recent years, showcasing his successful transition from acting to directing.

Odeh disclosed that the production budget surpassed $200,000, highlighting the project's ambition and scale, despite the various logistical hurdles faced during filming.
