Chinese President Xi Jinping, along with other prominent Party and state officials such as Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, and Han Zheng, paid their respects to Ren at the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery on Wednesday morning, honoring his memory and extending condolences to his family.
Ren passed away due to illness at 1:33 p.m. on September 21 in Beijing, at the age of 99.
His distinguished career included roles as a member of the Secretariat of the 14th CPC Central Committee, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, and vice chairman of the 9th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
He was recognized as an exemplary CPC member, a steadfast and loyal Communist advocate, and a prominent leader within China’s judicial, prosecutorial, and public security sectors.
In the wake of his death, Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, Han Zheng, Hu Jintao, and others either visited him during his hospitalization or expressed their condolences to his family through various channels.
