Burna Boy's 'Love, Damini' has achieved a significant milestone by joining the ranks of Nigerian albums with the highest RIAA certification.
Burna Boy's sixth album, 'Love, Damini,' has solidified his status as one of Africa's premier musical talents, featuring several notable hit tracks.
Released in 2022, the album has achieved impressive sales, reaching 500,000 units in the United States and earning an RIAA Gold certification.
This accomplishment is largely attributed to standout tracks such as 'Last Last,' which enjoyed a significant run on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 44.
Additionally, the collaboration 'For My Hand' with Grammy-winning British artist Ed Sheeran, along with contributions from J Hus, J Balvin, and Khalid, has further propelled the album's global appeal.
With this latest achievement, 'Love, Damini' joins the ranks of other Nigerian albums that have received RIAA Gold certification, including Wizkid's 'Made In Lagos,' Rema's 'Raves & Roses (Ultra),' and Tems' 'For Broken Ears.' A common thread among these albums is their collection of hit songs that have made a notable impact on the Billboard Hot 100.
Wizkid's 'Made In Lagos' features the popular remix of 'Essence' with Tems and Justin Bieber, which peaked at No. 9. Rema's 'Raves & Roses (Ultra)' includes the global sensation 'Calm Down' featuring Selena Gomez, which reached an impressive peak of No. 3. Tems' 'For Broken Ears' boasts the hit 'Free Mind,' which also enjoyed a lengthy presence on the chart.
