China has reiterated its warnings to the European Union, stating that if the bloc engages in separate negotiations with electric vehicle manufacturers while discussions with China are ongoing, it could "shake mutual trust" and disrupt the overall negotiation process, according to a statement from the Chinese commerce ministry on Monday.

This warning follows a similar statement made earlier this month and comes just days after China and the EU reached an agreement to continue technical discussions regarding potential alternatives to tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles (EVs).

Both parties have emphasized that price commitments will remain the key to resolving the dispute, and the ministry announced that the next phase of consultations has commenced.

Beijing expressed its eagerness for the EU delegation to visit China at the earliest opportunity last Friday.
