Daniel Dubois, the current IBF world heavyweight boxing champion, has communicated his willingness to engage in a rematch with Anthony Joshua, a former two-time heavyweight champion.

In a recent interview with BoxNation, Dubois expressed his eagerness to demonstrate his dominance in the boxing world.

“He’ll have a lot of demons playing on his mind. Who knows if people are talking him into it; I don’t know. I know from my side I’m ready to go out there and show the world that I’m the king,” he said.

In the event that Joshua is not the winner, the 27-year-old will attempt to avenge his loss to Oleksandr Usyk, provided that the Ukrainian boxer is able to defeat Tyson Fury in their rematch scheduled for December.

“That’s unfinished business. I want to get that one right. I want to do it properly and finish him. It will be a good fight, a unification fight; that’s massive.”

Last month, Joshua's attempt to secure a third world championship and reclaim his position among the elite in the division ended in a shocking manner. At Wembley Stadium, in front of 98,000 spectators, Dubois knocked him down multiple times before delivering a decisive right hand in Round 5, leaving Joshua on the canvas and marking his fourth professional defeat.

This loss reverberated throughout the boxing community, prompting some analysts to speculate about Joshua's future in the sport. However, Joshua swiftly dispelled any uncertainty by affirming his commitment to continue boxing. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, announced that the rematch will take place in the Middle East as part of the Riyadh Season, a festival featuring various entertainment and sports events from October to early March.

Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, indicated last weekend, following the press conference for the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol fight, that February is a potential date for the clash between Joshua and Dubois.

Dubois previously faced Usyk in August 2023, where he knocked the Ukrainian down with what he believed was a body shot, only for it to be deemed a low blow, allowing Usyk to secure victory by ninth-round stoppage. As for Joshua, he aims to realign his career and reclaim the world title in a potential matchup against Dubois, recently mentioning a heavyweight he claims he "ruined with one punch."
