Chelsea Football Club's head coach, Enzo Maresca, has appointed Moses Caicedo as the team's captain.

In a statement shared on Fabrizio Romano’s X account on Sunday, the midfielder expressed his gratitude towards Maresca for the honor of being named captain.

“I am thankful to Maresca for this opportunity to lead Chelsea,” he stated. “My goal is to become a legend at this club, and I am dedicated to working hard every day to achieve that.”

“Being the captain of Chelsea means a great deal to me. It’s a dream realized, especially since I grew up as a Chelsea supporter,” he added.

Chelsea is preparing to face Nottingham Forest on Sunday in the 2024/2025 season.

It is worth noting that Moises Caicedo joined Chelsea on an eight-year contract for £100 million from Brighton, with an additional £15 million in performance-related bonuses, after opting against a £111 million transfer to Liverpool.
